ARTE NOUVEAU STUDIES

The Problem:
Arte Nouveau is a style that was once not financially feasible due to its extravagance and overly-complex details. But there is a chance at revival of this style with the advent of technologies and the streamlined process to which pieces are designed and crafted.

Ideation:
I tasked myself to study up on the works of Alphonse Mucha. Through my research I found that his lithographs were inspired by music, art, and religion. His use of symbolism is heavy, from the position of the model's hands to the flowers used in the piece. Taking all this into consideration, I looked within myself to see what inspired me and my works.

Execution:
When I was a young artist, I drew dragons. The power in their essence is unmatched. The piece here is my personal favorite of the series I had created in studying the artist. The quote below reads "There is no stronger bond than that with a dragon."
